LEVY 1

FILLS
THE GAP
Local levies are essential to keeping classrooms and campuses fully staffed and supported. Of the district’s 17.5% received in local levy funding, 14.6% comes from the Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Replacement Levy, which fills the gap left by state underfunding.

BOOSTS ACADEMICS
All students - whether struggling or excelling - benefit from additional learning support. The Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Replacement Levy provides more of that support than the state alone can fund. It strengthens special education, career and technical education (vocational programs), and enrichment opportunities, and ensures help is available for all students.
The EP&O levy also:
-
Funds highly qualified educators to help keep class sizes smaller and offer critical academic and emotional support.
-
Covers essential special education costs not fully supported by state funding.
-
Supports vital staff positions including paraeducators, nurses, school psychologists, librarians, specialists (OT, PT, SLP, etc.), and substitutes - who help keep classrooms safe, welcoming, and effective.
-
Offers academic summer programs through the district’s Summer Academy for 1st-6th graders, helping students stay engaged and prepared throughout the summer.
-
Covers the cost of ACT testing so every high school junior can access the test for free.

CONNECTS STUDENTS
The Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Replacement Levy helps students engage with their peers, schools, and community through athletics, performing arts, clubs, and other after-school activities. These opportunities not only foster strong mental health, but also support academic success.
