FILLS THE GAP
The Educational Programs & Operations Levy (EP&O) makes up for 12% of the state's shortfall of what it costs to support learning. It pays for more caring adults in classrooms and on school campuses than the state pays for. This includes twice as many learning assistants (30) than the 15 the state provides. A counselor is on staff at each school because EP&O levy funds make that possible.

BOOSTS ACADEMICS
Both struggling and excelling students need learning support. The EP&O pays for more of that support than what the state provides. The EP&O levy enriches and underpins special education, vocational programs, and help for excelling and struggling students. The EP&O pays for ACT tests. It pays for more than 56 highly-qualified educators and school staff and helps the district attract people dedicated to student learning–– the "people power" necessary to prepare students to be learned, responsible, contributing citizens of the future.

CONNECTS STUDENTS...
...to school and community. The state pays for no activities happening after school or in the summer. The Educational Programs & Operations Levy (EP&O) helps students connect to each other, their schools and the community through athletics, performing arts, clubs, and other after-school activities for strong mental health and academic success.

The local EP&O levy makes it possible to have 56 additional, professional adults working with students to inspire learning and maintain safety. For example, the state pays for only TWO nurses to respond to health needs of more than 9,000 students in 15 schools. The levy pays for School Resource Officers and other school security and safety measures.
Lower local school tax rate
In 2023, when these levies are collected, property owners will pay a lower local school tax rate than they have over the last five years.

Neither levy is a new tax.
Both levies are REPLACEMENT levies at a LOWER local school tax rate.

Local levies help fill the gap between what the state funds and what it takes to provide our communities' children a full and rich learning experience, safe, secure, and well-maintained schools.
